# Use cases

What people do with Silan today, with a worked example, the steps, what is supported, and the proof behind each one.

Silan is a device station for AI agents. The pages in this section each take one thing people do with it, show a worked example, list the steps, and say plainly what is supported today, what is in testing and what is coming soon. Every proof names the kind of device, the date and who ran it.

| Use case | Who it is for | Status today |
|---|---|---|
| [QA on real iPhones and iPads](/use-cases/qa-on-real-iphones/) | App testers who run flows on real devices and want a report with a picture per step | Supported on iPhone and iPad, on Xcode simulators Silan makes and on Android emulators. Android phones in testing |
| [Agents that verify their own work](/use-cases/agents-verify-their-own-work/) | Developers whose coding agent should build, install, drive and record its own change | Shown end to end on an iPhone 11 on 30 Oct 2026 through a private test setup |
| [Several devices from one chat](/use-cases/several-devices-one-chat/) | Anyone who needs one task done on two or more devices at once | iPhone and iPad together supported. iPhone and Android together in testing |
| [A teammate uses your phone](/use-cases/teammate-uses-your-phone/) | Teams that share one Mac's devices across networks | Supported through a relay your team runs |
| [Everyday tasks on your own phone](/use-cases/everyday-tasks/) | People who want short tasks done on their iPhone in plain words | Supported, proved by the owner on the Simple way. Schedules in testing |
| [Notifications](/use-cases/notifications/) | Testers who check pushes and banners | Test pushes on iOS simulators (not iOS 27). Reading banners supported. Push to a real phone coming soon |
| [Sign-ins without the agent seeing the password](/use-cases/sign-in-without-seeing-the-password/) | Anyone whose task needs a login | Vault, 1Password and Bitwarden supported. One-time codes in testing |
| [Scheduled smoke tests](/use-cases/scheduled-smoke-tests/) | QA teams that want a daily run and a word only when it fails | Supported with no phone. In testing on a phone |
| [Bring your own model or agent loop](/use-cases/bring-your-own-model/) | Developers who run their own model against Silan's tools | Supported on a Mac with no phone attached |

The status words mean the same thing on every page. **Supported**: the code is in the current release and a Silan worker or the owner proved it on a real device, a simulator, an emulator or in tests. **In testing**: in the current release, but the proof on a real device is still owed, or the feature is off by default. **Coming soon**: planned, not in the release.

Two things shape most of these pages. First, the two ways to control an iPhone or iPad: the Simple way (a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, the picture over the cable, no Xcode, taps through a pointer, no element list) and the Developer way (Silan's helper signed with your Apple account, needs Xcode, exact taps, the element list, Wi-Fi after the first cable link). See [Devices](/devices/). Second, the safety rules run inside the engine, so they hold for Silan's own chat, for every connected AI app, for API keys, for flows and for schedules alike. See [Safety](/safety/).
