Guides
Each guide takes you from a working Silan to one finished result. They assume you have been through the quickstart: Silan is on your Mac, one device is set up, and you have run a first task.
Every guide follows the same shape. The intro tells you how long it takes and what you need. The steps give one action each and say what you should see. A short list at the end covers what to do when something goes wrong. Where a Silan worker or the owner has proved the steps on a real device, a simulator or an emulator, a Proof note says so. Where part of a guide is still in testing, the intro says which part.
| Guide | Time | You need |
|---|---|---|
| Your first agent task on an iPhone | about 10 minutes | an iPhone or iPad set up in Silan, an agent provider |
| Write and run a flow | about 15 minutes | a device with the element list (Developer way, simulator or emulator) |
| Export a JUnit report for your CI to read | about 10 minutes | a flow file, the Silan app open on the Mac |
| Connect Claude Code and drive a phone | about 10 minutes | Claude Code on the Mac, one device |
| Share a phone with a teammate | about 15 minutes | a team server, two people with accounts |
| Run your own relay in 30 minutes | about 30 minutes | a Linux server, a DNS name, an OIDC sign-in |
| Let the agent sign in with 1Password | about 15 minutes | 1Password with its command-line tool |
| Make a simulator and test a push notification | about 15 minutes | Xcode on the Mac, your app build |
| Set up an Android emulator | about 20 minutes | Android Studio, Homebrew |
The command-line examples use the silan tool that ships inside the app. It is not on your PATH, so each guide starts with:
SILAN=/Applications/Silan.app/Contents/Helpers/silanFor the full list of commands see the command line reference. For the tools an agent calls see the MCP reference.
